I have only seen garbage bears in the night. Normally daytime only.

ive only seen bears during the day, mainly cause i dont hunt at night and they are black.

id venture to say 50/50, they are lazy so when its stupid hot out they are sleeping in the shade. Once the sun goes down or a bit before they seem to get quiet active.

Winter time they are out all day due to colder temps.

In the Fraser Valley and it's local mountains they are active both day and night. When farmers varied crops are mature enough, or the fish are spawning, most of their feeding is done at night when they're not interrupted by humans.

Trail camera says early morning and just when the sun is going down they are out. But they are out all day and night too. All depends where they are hanging around. In the field i hunt, during the morning there in the corner shade eatting grass and berries same wiith evening. During the day when the sun is out full force they are again out but in the thick by the creek and swamp where its cool and lots of grass. Just think, if you had to wear a thick jacket all day where would you be?

Yes it's different from region to region. They have the ability to be diurnal but nothing beats local knowledge.
So you have to explore the region you are interested in.

U can find bears throughout the day, in my area they like to sleep in and are out more around the mid morning/afternoon.

Simple answer, any time day and night. A bear lives by his gut. When he is satisfied with food, he will lay down. When he is hungry, he will look for food. As some have already pointed out, the cams show them active day and night. So, if your question is somewhat aimed at when would be a good time to hunt bear, the answer would be any time of the day. Just find a area with a good food source for bears and you'll most likely find bears. Places like the back entry to a farmer's corn field or along those quiet forest roads lined with rose hips and other berries (early fall). Along roadways and south facing slopes in spring for the early greens.

they are active 24 hours a day.
they freakin' sleep all winter, they have a lot of catching up to do.
