Hmmmm been studying maps and listening to reports of wild pigs out West..so went for a look see.
Know of 4 hsrvested by one guy .they were 80 pounds each another guy got a 400 pounder several weeks ago.talked with a local who sees them all the time he travels there...seen 4 small pink ones? Pigglets? And the adults had long hair..
We found tracks, wallow? But did not see any, narrowed the area down to several kms.
Heard also some cowboys had found a large torn up field full of wild pigs..
Know where, and why they are there..the Who done it and why..and where 8 to 12 have been harvested...short leisurly morning that was most informnative and narrowed down the next outing measurably. From what I learned today it should be a doable event....the numbers are more than I expected..and they range from this years pigglets..to 400 pound hogzillas.....they are 12 kms area and the prime location is 4 km x2.5 km? So still breeding and expanding...the gent we chatted with also harvested one...so some map work...and another outing?
Was a satisfying outing , lots of intel a tremendous learning experience..and first outing for wild pigs.

Cheers
Steven

In B.C. ?

Not sure what the term is for a person that allows or promotes pest species or invasive species to propagate and thrive.

Hmm, wonder if Chilcotin Hillbillies dogs would even know what a pig is ? On that note I DID get a e-mail from one of the wounded warriors thanking me for my contribution to the event.
Maps are being examined for insight into topography , trails cam locations....
It truly was fun...
