For those of you with Tikka's.....how did you mount your scope?

I picked up and Elite 3200 3-9x40 firefly at the weekend and have decided on the Tikka t3 after playing with them a bit more at the
Outdoor show, going to order one tonight.

How have you found the supplied scope mounts that come with the Tikka?

The guy at one of the gunstore booths was recommending one of the leupold varieties (can't remember which one).

Any Tikka owners found what has worked best?

Thanks!

Ive mounted a half dozen Tikka's, and the Talley lightweights are the best, followed by Optilocks. Burris & Leupold are both good too, and less expensive than Optilocks. Talleys are even less 8-)

Mullet rings suck, IMO

I've used the OptiLocks on at least 3 different Tikkas.
Good solid rings but REALLY bulky, 0heavy and Stupidly expensive.

I eventually went to the One Piece Talley Lightweights on the last 2 Tikkas I've had and now Use them on my Remmies too. Affordable (1/2 the cost of the optis) and very strong.

Go with a set of talley lightweights 8)

I'll second that Millet rings are the $hitZ...My Tikka 300 Mag threw a set loose after 5 rounds. They are Crappola:)

I went to Talley's website and I saw that there are 30mm one piece for the T3.

Does anyone know if Talley's make the one piece light weight mounts for a Sako. I would be very interested if someone could tell me where to get them, if they make them.

Thanks, Tim

So Tally's are the way to go, thanks for the info, might as well do it right the first time.

I think my Elite 3200 is a one inch tube......so I guess I would have to go with the two piece bases???

I don't mean to hijack your thread:) but where are you guys buying your Talley rings from? I just bought myself a Kimber 8400 Montana in .338 Win Mag and I would really like a set of light weight Talleys for it.

My Tikka T3 Battue has Leupold mounts and my new to me Tikka M695 25/06 has the Millet Style rings. The Leupold rings have never given me any trouble. I have used weaver bases and Burris Zee rings on previous Tikka's as well as the Opti locks all have worked well.

The Talley's you want are a single peice ring and base together. Yes there are two seperate ring and base pieces. Make sure you get the Lows, they wille asily fit a scope up to 42mm on the Tikka.
They look like this.......Talley Lightweight Alloy Scope Mount

Optilock is the only way to go. Put them on both my tikkas; 30-06 and .270wsm, and have never had to readjust or retighten a screw.
