I'm moving to langley from victoria. Want to get a fall bear. Was thinking the alpine in chiliwack. But no idea where to access the alpine and where there could be less people and wild berries hiking is not a issue. Do not have a 4 by 4. Only a ford escape. Thanks for any info.

Check out the top end of Airplane Cr. end of Sept. beginning of Oct. If the berries are ripe there will be plenty of bears around. Same goes for Mnt. Cheam if you play smart and stay a couple kms away from the trail and associated crowds. The sub alpine ridge opposite Tamihi Cr between Canadian Border Pk and McGuire is also a good bet. If you're willing to drive an extra few kms up the Coquihalla there's no shortage of alpine, berries and bears.

I don't think you can get to the airplane cr fsr road, the last time i check there was a gate across the rd.
