This is it probably a stupid question but please bare with me. I was having a conversation with a friend about hunting In alberta. I live in bc and am interested in hunting in my non resident province. Do I need a registered guide to hunt out of province or can I just buy non resident tags and go with friends and family. Hopefully none of you older guys are shaking your heads at me through your computer screen hahaha still pretty wet behind the ears

U just need a A.B resident to accompany u, and W.I.N #, and appropriate licences.
No reg guide needed.

Check out "Hunter Host" in the Alberta regulations. Should answer some of your questions.

For general season tags, you can just buy them and go with a WIN number. You can also apply for Special Licenses (LEH equivelant) and if you draw the tag then be hosted. Some rules to understand with applications, priority, etc.

Lived in Alberta for years and I love going back and hunting now as a non-resident. Also have been lucky to have killed my biggest WT and MD as a non-resident.

Close you need to know an Alberta hunter

Similar to BC's host program just less headaches

it's an easy process to get licensed, walk into anywhere you buy licenses with your AB buddy, fill out some paperwork, pay your fees and go hunting
