Anyone know how the fishing in Nootka is right now? Brother, Father in-law and I are going in two weeks.

Leaving Wednesday morning for 5 days there, camping at cougar creek. heard its been good, especially outside on the reef but have heard the fish are moving inside. Hoping to bob around inside and not have to run out. Been a few years, cant wait! 3 more sleeps!

Well if Winter Harbour is any indication you should do OK. Just got back and the springers were plentiful and the coho unreal. Good luck.

My gf and I just bought a house in tahsis. We haven't bought a boat yet but everyone I talk has been doing well and it is only just starting in two weeks time it should be on pretty good.

I was there 1.5 weeks ago. Picked up bigger springs on the inside. Didn't go out to the reef, but the light house was productive too. 10 spring/coho in 2 days totalling 130lbs. Biggest was 27.5lb from Camel Rock.

We try not to run out too far. Always have done well at Hisnit.

Just got back from 3.5 days. Good numbers of fish inside and out. Never saw anything over 30 though although I'm sure they are there. Some crazy fishing outside, however no retention of the big boyz at the surf line and fisheries is there watching.

nootka was/is amazing this year.
got back recently from my trip down.
average everyone was catching was just under 20 lbs - just over.
my biggest was 24 lbs. and smallest was 18 lbs.
my brother got one right to the back of the boat, after a crazy fight, and it made his huge cooler mounted on the swim grid look smallish.
I was guessing a 50+'er.
then it decided to run again and bent his treble.
but it was awesome to watch the fight he had and even get a glimpse of it.
the camel is where the main hordes were concentrating.
and hoiss also.
