This is the skull from the bear that I shot last September. I had a friend do the skull for me and he says it is over 20" which would qualify for Boone and Crockett. It will make the BC Record Book for sure.

I like to raise the tablesaw blade and use the France and the blade as a bear skull calliper. That is my input for the night

Just a suggestion to the mods or anybody else that gets their knickers in a knot about posts not related to BCWF. Move this to the "Open Chat" section away from Hunting Mainlaind B.C. and I'll bet you'll all sleep a bit better! K

I do the very same ....... have measured many bears on my table saw.
If I may add a little to mwalter's fine post ..... you can/should add a spacer under the canine teeth ..... this will give you the best length measurement, from the front incisors to the end of the skull ridge.

'Booner' class black bears are minimum 21"
BC'er class black bears are minimum 19"
