Have never hunted this area before, was wondering if anyone can offer advice on what to look for etc, I have a 30-06, will that be enough...?

It will be a tough-ish hunt at that time of year, what portion of 3-13 are you thinking of concentrating on?

Heres a freebee. Julliet fsr. Or any fsr on ur mapbook in that area. Patients, luck. And you'll connect. Wear ur hiking boots for faster results.

I drew 3-12 flattop. Second time in five years. Last time it was a grueling 10min hunt. We could meet at the border and back each other up if you'd like. I'll bring the H&H....

Some of you guys are going to laugh at this, but I had that draw a couple years ago and got skunked.

The Doe's in 3 13 are HUGE .... you will need way more then a 30/06 you asked about. Big zone, should be a no brainer, but HUGE fire power required .....

Don't shoot the first one you see, hold out for a really nice mature one. The meat will be better....

Sorry, 30-06 won't do it man. :( A .375 shot on the does in that area will still require an hours worth of tracking. At LEAST a 50 caliber to the heart is recommenced.

Thanks for the tips guys! I guess i should make sure my tank is full and i have a full bag o' spitz. Going to start working up a load for the gun. getting nervous......I heard you should try and break the shoulder to anchor the beast first then finish it off...?

Might want to go out and get yourself a monster truck and mount a few machine guns on the roof. Also, look at the tree top heights for them.
