Late season hunt for Elk and Moose.

Hi, I was fortunate enough to receive a Bison draw for Region 7B from Oct 16th till Oct. 31st. I have hunted this area for Elk and Moose for many years. Never been there past the first week of Oct though. Can anyone please enlighten me on what to expect in late October? I would expect that both Ruts would be finished. Will both species still come or talk to cow and bull calls? I will have three horses along plus two quads. Thank you in advance for any info that you can give.

Where are you heading into

Heading into the Sikanni Chief area. Probably all the way into Trible Creek.

I haven't hunted in there I cant heip out much but you should be into some snow by then

The odd bull moose will still come wandering in, most likely quietly. Glass the open areas as the elk and moose will be into heavy feeding by then. One thing to watch out for is that area is being heavily developed by oil and gas. That has really affected animal movements and with the pressure of the developement and hunting from Aug 15, the animals are back in the thick stuff.
