Looks good RD, how's the chew? or are you saving it for a fish soup/stew.

I got the idea from my brother who reciently returned from a fishing trip to Bella Coola. He met up with a local couple who gave him a bag of similarily dryed Salmon ( I don't remember what they called it, but they like to dip it in Butter and sprinkle it with salt. Personally I enjoyed it plain)
So, I took the idea and ran with it. The Pike is much more chewy and tough but I like it, as do the wife and kids.
I brought the bag full out to work with me, if it survives untill the end of my shift, I will consider making a soup. I suspect it will not last that long though. Probably have to make more, lol.

Slough shark jerky. Sounds about as good as coyote Tbone. But I'd try it once.

I'm considering trying it with Walleye next time :-)

Marble eyes would be better tasting. I've tasted chum salmon dried and it sucked. Not fit for dogs.

Great looking walleye RD. I cannot come up with a single reason why walleye would not taste great done up te same way. Walleye is second to none in my books. It is great just cooked in a pan over a fire or just done on a stick over some flame. Let us know how itturns out.

Walleye would never last with me long enough to smoke! So delicious fresh out of the water! I'd probably trade a 20 pound spring for a couple of nice 2 pounders.

When you spend 5 weeks out in the bush, eating Walleye for dinner every second day and leftover Walley the next day for lunch, you eventually start looking for different ways to prepare your Walleye:wink:

A few years ago, we fished Lesser Slave Lake and ate walleye almost every day. One day we had walleye for all 3 meals, all were cooked in a different way. Goooood stuff.
I don't get why some people don't like slough sharks. They can be very tasty when cooked properly. I think it would be very good if you added some type of spice before drying.
