got out for the day with my new Lowrance Elite 7 inch HD chirp
with downscan and regular sonar. was a real slow day with only one hit all day...but what a fish..several runs way near the end of the backing...nearly 3o minute fight on Sage 5 weight rod weith 6 pound tippet...on a micro leech....the scale said 14 POUNDS EVEN.. IT WAS A PERFECT FIGHT....and the fish was incredible..almost my biggest rainbow on fly....was pleased with the light set up....going to submit the fish for local club maybe biggest rainbow on fly this year??
Garry will help me later with the lake shots..here's Susan with the trout.
cheers
Steven

Wow! Great rainbow. That must have been a blast on the 5wt... 6lb tippet for added suspense. I'll bet it had you down to your backing or darn close. Congrats!

Lol...busted by Warren...its whatever Susan says...ps saw your Mom @ Timmies the other day...
As per the other question...my biggest on a fly...18 pound trout....but any person can cstch a 10 pound trout on fly...even Albertans...however anything over10 pounds one ounce is a keeper...lol
It was a very thrilling and satisying acomplishment..especially considering the very light tippet strength
Add to that the moose, goat, deer, elk LEH draws today....incredible

Susan, my lovely wife caught a 14 pounder on Forest...hmmm 20 years ago...
I have seen 20 pounders on fly...it IS a flyvfishi g trophy lake...latest stock is Penask triploids
Best day...11 fish ALL over 5 pounds..lost several in the 20 pound range over the years....it does get like a parking lot come late May...vancouver f.yfishing club take over the lake.... when Phil caught his 10 pounder there last year...it was a wee bit crowded....
Last thing I said last nite...ya I did!
