on our last day of bear hunting in 3-19 we were finding lots of fresh sign in a couple of spots over the week but the activity was very early and very late and we just couldn't get the second bear, got out there early on our last day and just missed this bear, biggest tracks I have seen in my time in kamloops, will be in the area in the fall for sure, any guess on a size? I would think quite large. here are some photos to reference some size size 13 boot 13" long 5"wide

can see here where he walked down the road, we tracked for 1km then into a ravine and anyones guess where he went, we were probably 2-3 hours behind maybe as close as we scared him off the road hard to say, but fresh for sure, center of the photo are the bear tracks and the right tracks are my tracks

from heel to toe the boot is 13"

I too have an area with a huge ol'boy that haves track like that.Only seen him once and he ghosted immediatly. Was a very large brown bear , cinnamon coloured. He stays in same area every yr and hunts moose after the rut.I have tracked fresh tracks hoping to catch him - but not yet, maybe one day.Same probly for you there - jus keep trying an perhaps time will one time be right.Almost seems the stars have to line up jus right to bag those biguns.Good huntin BULLNUTTS

How wide across would you say that front pad was? It looks about 5" maybe 5.5"? I believe the rule is you take the width of the front track and add 1" and that would give you the rough size of the bear. I think? lol. So if it was a 5" track +1" then your looking at roughly a 6' bear.

Couple weeks ago I left the jeep for a bit and came back to what looked like a paw print right above where we had the cooler. Can anyone confirm the print? Glad it opted not to go through the soft plastic window.

That evening about a 2km hike away--as discussed in another thread--I had a misfire with a bear at 7 meters. Perhaps same bear armed with horse shoes and mega karma points for not harming the jeep and jacking my provisions. Still haven't quite gotten over it by the way.

Yes I was thinking same thing 5'5" wide track at least, would be 6 feet+, my 5'2" bear I shot had far smaller pads than this and was a decent bear

As well interesting you say that about the moose this is an area I have hunted moose a lot before has good populations
