Sooke-where are the springs?

This is supposed to be a good year,but the early run of springs doesn't seem to be showing off Sooke from what I hear.Even the highliners aren't having much luck.We did pretty good on halibut,but by now the summer run salmon should be showing up.Lots of theories,like maybe they came down inside to the Fraser rather than through Juan de Fuca.

There's lots of big chinook hold up right now at Tofino, there on there way!

Went out for a few hours this morning out towards possession point and secretary island not one bite. Heard the same story quite a bit lately from lots of people but it should turn on soon
Pretty hard to have a bad day fishing anyway

If they are holed up around Tofino,Maybe the rain will get them moving....I haven't heard anything about a sockeye opening in the straits,though

I've heard good reports from swiftsure bank. They're on their way, just taking their time!

Swiftsure is a dead zone, all the guides are coming back to the beach to try there with little success. One hell of an algae bloom happening on the west coast right now!

Last weekend was great, 20lbs hali on Saturday, 25 & 12lbs spring on Sunday plus lost two more fish.. fishins GREAT!!

I've been doing well the last couple of days on the Victoria water front all between 15-20lbs.

Nothing much at all between Rupert and Terrace right now. Lots of foam and such in the water coming down the Kasiks though.

I just talked to Terry(T&T fishing charters,been fishing with him for 20 years)and the springs are in,we're going Monday morning,weather permitting.It went from nothing,not even a strike for hours to several fish per boat in a couple of days.Thats fishing......

the wife and I just got home from an Alaskan cruise and the springs are just starting to run heavy in Ketchican .

The fish are definitely in-boats coming back with several springs apiece.A week ago everybody was drawing a blank.Fisheries says we're supposed to have a good year
