I seen a picture of a blackbear somewhere online the other day and it clearly showed a hump.
I know for sure it was a blackbear sow with cubs. How i have been around blackbears toknow that it
was not a grizzly, that bear was standing on level ground.
And no, this is not a conspiracy !

My wife and I watched a huge boar black bear from 2 different positions several years ago between Stave Lake and Chelalis Lake. It was by far the largest black bear boar I've ever seen and as it was standing in the open and on a massive windfall, we got a very good look at it. It had a shoulder hump similar to a grizzly, but not quite as pronounced. The CO told me someone had shot it the next week and they were also amazed by both it's extraordinary size, and it's shoulder hump.

I'll try. But I won't be back for a month from my claim.

It must have been that rare species: Blackbear from Notre Dame! No doubt complaining how his hump hurt him everytime he rang the bells!

Most really mature boars have somewhat of a hump.
It called muscle mass good luck chewing.

Well if Alaska grizzlies can cross with polar bears, then I don't see why it would not happen on occasion that a black bear could cross with a Grizz. Interesting.

Looks like a griz to me.

Except the front claws aren't 4 1/2-6" long short like a grizz
