Was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some general pointers, location wise, for a bear hunt next week. I am currently considering 3-35 to 3-37, as well as 4-39.
I have Mon-Sat of next week to hunt, and I am not familiar with the area.

Cheers

I should note that I am willing to drive up to Region 5, or basically anywhere within 600km of Vancouver..

I have no locations for you, but I'm thinking about the same thing so if I hear anything I'll let you know. I plan on heading out Wednesday-Saturday. Good luck to you!

Thanks, and good luck to you as well. I was considering the Adams lake area, and around the west side of Revelstoke Lake as well.
I'm not looking for specific locations, as much as areas not to waste my time in.

I think you better check the regs, remember the new regs ain't effective til July of this year, and the old regs are what we go by until the end of this month, and last time I checked, spring bear is closed June 15th, it's open til the 30th of June starting next year..

Some areas have had June 30 as the last day for some time now. Other regions (3, for example!) are currently closed. I recommend 4-39 as Region 4 is open for all the rest of June, 2014.

3-34 to 3-44 open until June 30th. Along with sections of other regions.

So yes...someone should be checking the regs.

Each of those 4 areas has a lot of bears and not much pressure. Upper Adams River, Momich, Seymour River, Ratchford Creek, Perry River: thick bush but lots of bears.

This is what I was hoping for, cheers.

Access from Vavenby, off the hwy 5, take adams lake rd, follow the rd, drive till 51.459618, -119.471051. Lots of bears around that area. We got 3 out of there this spring. 2 over 6' one 5'. Seen over 20 or close to 30 there. Most cinnamon.
Busy logging there though.

I was out there yesterday. The logging road east of Vavenby (over the bridge) has a small washout a couple of km's in. 4x4 can get over it easily. Lots of bear sign. Any of the logging roads between there and Clearwater have sign. Not many hunters.
