As far as I know, there is no established feral pig population in BC, only the occasional escapee roams from the hobby farms. Usually in the interior.
I commend the local government for having an open season on wild pigs before we actually need them.
As of July 1 this year the federal government has made it mandatory to report all pig movements within the country. I will assume that the larger farms will comply immediately with these new rules, however the smaller hobby farms might be a bit slow on the uptake of these new rules and regulations.
I could see the new rules helping to pinpoint the location of escapees in the future if the gov ever allows access to this information.

They taste great! I hunted them in Texas a few years ago and we would smoke them for 6 or 7 hrs. Man, what a feast! We would just take the backstrap from any over 100 lbs though.
