This is a bear my son killed last week. He doesnt frequent this forum so I posted for him. We spotted a sow with cubs on this slide a couple of weeks ago. I told him to watch this area as a boar would turn up sooner or later. I think he was glad he listened to the old man. The bear was shot at 30 yds. A few tense moments after the shot , but all ended well. He was hunting with his good friend (Deeks)http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/gg597/Cheetah48/Grizzly2_zps2a10f576.jpeg (http://s1245.photobucket.com/user/Cheetah48/media/Grizzly2_zps2a10f576.jpeg.html)http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/gg597/Cheetah48/Grizzly_zps94ce4ec5.jpeg (http://s1245.photobucket.com/user/Cheetah48/media/Grizzly_zps94ce4ec5.jpeg.html)

Ok... Heres a few more details. The slides in this area are filled with cow parsnip. The bears are in there thick as they just love that stuff. He had seen 5 or 6 other grizzlies over the last month. They spotted this guy in the evening on a slide. They hiked up to where he was last seen , but couldn't see him. This was an extremely steep slide. They found a small ledge at sat momentarily. At 30 yds he spotted the bear above them. They were going to film this , but the bear spotted them and lifted up on his hind legs and was looking at them. One shot to the chest and the bear was wheeling around and they were right downhill of the bear. They thought the bear would end up on ledge they were on which had no escape as it was a drop off behind them. Needless to say the bear died in thick brush above them. He said it was very dangerous terrain and they had to descend in the dark. Thankfully they made it down safely. This bear was killed in the Kootenays in Southeast BC.
