if you could go anywhere in this beautiful province to hunt a monster, trophy blackie, where would it be?

Id like to go around Port Alice on the island. Seen lots of big ones there while vacationing.

BC has lots of great bear hunting. Bog ones are all over BC but generally anywhere they can get to higher amounts of protein will lead to bigger bears, so anywhere that can have some salmon spawning are good bets. Get a BC record book and you will see lots form the Island and the coast, but there are big bears everywhere. I've seen most biggest bears in Reg 1, 2, 3 and 5, but that is also where I have spent the most time. Never seen a really big black bear in Reg 7 but I am sure they exist. Biggest black bear I've ever seen was in Region 3, when I was armed with a 20 guage and #6 shot. The Girl and I interrupted him while we were grouse hunting. He took off into the bush but was not spooked for long and sorta stalked us, paralleling the trail we were on for a long time. Kinda spooky, and I carried slugs with me after that whenever grouse hunting.

The caribou on horse back trip. Never been there but there are some nice looking hills on google earth there and lots of bears I imagine.
