I use the iHunter android app. Was very helpful to me. Lots of tools including a GPS. Take a look.

Same here. Love Hunt Buddy. Use the different maps and regs all the time. Only feature I wish it had is gps logging out routing.

pretty sure huntbuddy was designed by someone on this forum. username Reach?

can someone verify?

if so, definitely good to support a fellow HBCer

If you supply me with enough beer I might go on a coding binge and add tracks and waypoints :)

I'd happily donate the first flat of beer for this feature. Your one-on-one customer support has already been exemplary to me, and this would be amazing.

Yeah I foprgot that the regs were on huntbuddy. I had the app for my iphone but didn't use it to read the regs....problem solved!

Oh, and about the beer incentive for "reach" for an enhanced version. I could be convinced to contribute....how to send a yummy pint from the coast to PG without spilling it....or drinking it on the way...

I have Hunt Buddy and like it use it all the time. Would be cool if the no shooting zones would show up on the map. I'm not sure if any others do that.

How much beer? I use your app and GPS Hunt which I only use for marking my waypoints. That app doesn't even let me leave marks on the map, just coordinates.

But for real, I'm sure we could get you some beer to make this happen. Paypal maybe?

Yes if you just want the bare PDF with no bells and whistles, you can download it to your phone from Hunting-TrappingSynopsis_2014-2016.pdf (http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/wildlife/hunting/regulations/1416/docs/Hunting-TrappingSynopsis_2014-2016.pdf)

Install the iBooks app first (free from Apple; it's a decent PDF reader) then after downloading the above link from Safari, choose "open in" and pick iBooks.

I travel to a lot of different regions for work, and love being able to just glance at Huntbuddy and get the specific open seasons for exactly where I am standing

after researching hunt buddy, i think id rather spend a couple bucks and support a bc hunter, as opposed to just having the regs. also get some cool bells and whistles with the app. thanks!

hey reach is there a way to change the map to satellite mode? i love the tracking crosshairs, but it would be nice to see a terrain view so i can follow myself down the smaller logging roads

Does Huntbuddy automatically load the 2014-2016 synopsis? mine still has the old ones.

I don't want to get this thread too far into support stuff... please PM, email, FB etc. with other questions :)

On Android there's a little "stacked layers" icon up top that appears when you're looking at the map... tap that and there's a choice of normal, satellite, hybrid or terrain. On iPhone it's behind the page curl at the bottom right.

Does Huntbuddy automatically load the 2014-2016 synopsis? mine still has the old ones.Yes it shows both current regs (still in effect until July 1) and next year's. When you pick a date (tap on date or +/- buttons) it shows the seasons & restrictions for that date.

After July 1 it will no longer show the 2012-2014 seasons.

The updates with the new regs were just published in the last week, so make sure you've updated to the latest version from the store.

Hey Reach, I want to send you a BIG thank you! I have been using the hunt buddy BC app coming up to a 3rd season now. It is by far the BEST app I have ever downloaded. I tell everyone I know to download it. I would gladly pay to renew this app every year if that is what it takes to keep it updated and running. Even for non hunters the ability to use the GPS while looking at a sat image of the area is priceless! I can't count how many times I have been hiking or driving in an area and 'think' I know what is ahead of me but not sure enough to press on. Now I just open my app and I 'know' without a doubt exactly where I am and where i am headed not to mention the ease of looking up seasons when I cross into a new M-U. Gone are the days of stopping to reconfirm what is open, I can now just glance at my phone to know. So again, thank you and keep up the good work.

When are you going to do the animal locator update? Different color dots for different species and the bigger the dot the bigger the animal.
