Hello! Yesterday I was hunting bear in region 8 with my parents, as well as checking my trail cameras. We had stopped to make a fire and have lunch, and I got bored so with my somewhat-trusty dog Ty we walked up an abandoned road for 10-20 minutes. Eventually we got to a clearing where there was a group of beige-colored stumps, "Hmmm, that's outta place," I thought to myself and looked down at Ty for his opinion. He just had is eyes fixed on those stumps, so I took out the Vortex binoculars. I don't know about you, buy I have never seen a stump with legs, a white butt, ears, and a long nose....wait...it's an elk! Oh wait, it's not an elk.....It's a herd of at least 10 bedded down and starring me right in the eye! BUT.... I forgot to bring a camera. So I went back to grab my parents and the camera. We completed the 15-ish minute hike and saw nothing! The herd had simply up and disappeared! I still got some elk pictures, as well as a deer, and a picture of where the elk were bedded.
