Its a Rocky Mountain whitefish. Arctic slope, a bit different than the ones we get in Southern BC. Awesome eating, but must be fileted cuz they are boney. Caught and ate lots from the Athabaska near Jasper. Nice white meat and good fried with a spicey batter.

Looks like a northern pike minnow to me. I don't even like to touch the smelly things. Bonk and feed every one you catch to the birds.

Squawfish, ones from colder rivers seem to be that lighter colour.

Does not matter! It's Hunting BC not fishing BC. I don't see any bullet holes so you should put it back and blast it like you should have in the first place.

it is 100% squawfish, or politically correct its a northern pikeminnow.. Although they are edible i would recommend throwing them back in..( maybe with a hole in it).
lots of US towns have bounties on those, they are a real harsh predator and eat everything that can fit in their mouths.
