Interesting week guiding a great fellow with an awesome gun. We killed 2 good bears one in a close up bay up and the other out of a tree. It is interesting to see what 750 grains does at 2050 ft/second when used on big black bears.
Enjoy a couple pictures from the week.

Interesting this bear had just been in a battle with bites all over from ankles to nose he was in no mood to run and was in fighting mode right from the time the dogs jumped him. He still had claws full of hair when we shot him.

This bear took the full meal deal on the dead run when it hit the ground running. The 7000ft/pounds of energy flipped end for end.

You haven't shot a real gun until you feel that 577 NE unleash Thors hammer. Crazy recoil, not for recoil shy people. What a blast.

Any exit wounds? What kind of shot angles?

Any exit wounds? What kind of shot angles?

All exit wounds, on shoulder shot flipped the bear upside down, one poorly placed shot to far back and a quick follow up on the run in the back out the front. At $20/shot (in the US) you need to have a deep pocket to shoot this gun often.

Let me know, I don't fish much but with everything but wolf closed to hunt I may just do that.
Remind me before you come.

Great bears, cool rifle. That first shot on the edge if Tatlayoko Zlake is pretty cool. It's not often we get lakeside pics of bears! :)

Clarke, you aint kidding,we picked the log pile for the shot as it was an epic event trying to load that pig in the truck. This way we could roll him in and out with out to much problem. We had little room for quality pictures where he lay as he was shot at 15 feet in a hell hole.
I will try and get the video of the second bear as it is unreal what that gun did on a running texas heart shot.

The first shot was not good but that second one rocked! I have never seen anyone shot like this guy can, doubles and shotgunning is what he lives for. We had 3 cameras going, the camera on him seemed like he was just swinging on some doves with a shotty.

most of us would be reeling from round 1 to swing anf hit the second round in a couple seconds!

Jimsue, you are right, we have developed a great respect and friendship towards each other. He just called a minute ago and booked again for him and his daughter next spring. A great man who came from nothing, made his money while staying grounded. Not every client is like that.
