PG bear?

Took a drive 60km out the Salmon FSR at first light this morning. Couple of moose, an elk, but nary a bear. Today was the first time out this year, but usually there has been something moving this time in May. What are the rest of you seeing this spring?

I've seen dozens of bears, including one last night at 4km on the salmon

seen close to 20 over the past week around pg. they seem to be everywhere right now!

Went to Otter Creek, Tulameen, and Princeton. Saw scat piles but they were far and few. No bears. It is because of the late spring, still some snow around bears aren't moving much

Get out there again this afternoon and hang around in the areas where you saw sign, they will be there. You generally see a lot more bears in the late afternoon/evening.

You might be dressed wrong. I've heard the PG bears really like floral pattern camo. In pink or mauve.

Ok, might not be exactly what the bears are looking for, but I guarantee other hunters will give you wide berth.

Funny thing is the bear I got last Saturday was taken at 5:40 AM :) but that is the first time that has ever happened to me. Over thee years we have shot some around noon but the vast majority have been taken from about 5:00 PM or later.

Saw a couple while driving back home south from PG last weekend

Saw 10 bear on the 200 road south of Bear Lake.Only 1 shooter and I passed.

bear hunting= sleep in, have a good breakfast, grab a timmies. lol...... I cant say ive NEVER got a bear before 10a.m., but its only been 2 EVER. Seems as though 10:30 am is a magic number for me to START seeing bears. once the morning sun starts warming up, till about noon thirty, or 1pm. then it slows down till the evening... just how it seems to work for me anyways... when i lived there, used to always see big bears aout the 1400 rd behind clear lake. or mckenzie lake rds. havent been back there in years though.

Seen 7 blacks and 2 griz between pg and chetwynd.

seen a ton this year so far, saw 5 yesterday seen most of them out around mid day in the sun

Seen a couple between pg and hixon. Haven't been in the bush looking yet tho.

went from PG to quesnel and back the other day (7th) saw nothing on the way down but five bears on the way back, four of them were pretty good. Drove from PG to Chetwynd (probably followed doublelung or vise versa) on the 13th and I saw "ole faithfull" out in salmon valley and three more between there and McCloud lk, then nothing until Willow Creek mine and saw two between there and Chetwynd.
