Went out yesterday with my dad for a few hours before it got super hot out. My last big laker I caught was 17lbs. This one had probably 10 lbs on him. Pretty much had to winch this pig off the bottom. He came up slowly and was spitting bubbles the whole time. Revived him till he was super strong and sent him back down to the deep to be caught again.

Nice job on the catch and release.
Proves the Ogopogo is a myth.
That monster would of made a hearty snack for the Pogo.

We do fish it with riggers and have caught them on them but we prefer to hunt them down and jig them.

Nice Fish! A 36 inch or 30lb female laker can be close to 30 years old and lay 18000 eggs. Some live up to 45 years. The 7 - 12 lb fish taste the best.

A good read. https://spo.nmfs.noaa.gov/sites/default/files/legacy-pdfs/leaflet555.pdf
