So what the F#$%K is going on with the 7b elk season? There is a major change to the regs, is there a typo or something? If not is there anyone who can shed some light on the reasons for no elk hunting in 7-32? there are 2000+ LEH's for the up coming winter season, but no elk season? Seems kinda screwed? Anyone? Not only 732 but 733,34 also that's a huge area. On the map where it shows the m.u. It says major regulation proposals for 2014 2016 so maybe it's just proposals for now. Doesn't look good

Look at map H21, the agricultural zone as it pertains to elk and you will find 7-32.

No change to peace elk. It's supposed to say the same thing in a different way. Problem was the hunter sample survey and the possibility that ppl were saying hunt/harvest in 7-20 when it was in diff MUs. If the synopsis is wrong it'll get sorted online

QFT. It's just a typo. They will correct it.

Besides 7-20 Zone A they also removed all other references to LEH and other "Zones" that were being used to define open seasons (7-43 Zone A & B, 4-6 Zone C, 4-3 Zone X, etc.) and replaced with just the MU names. They just messed it up (in a big way) for 7-20 Zone A and will fix it soon I'm sure.

My thoughts are that the numbers are down for elk in this area and by having LEH say if all LEH where filled they would have an idea on how many numbers havd been taken in the region but
if there was a GOS within this region the management would not have any idea on how many elk where taken..

I have to disagree with that statement.Maybe in the north peace but not in the south peace

What NoahDawg said in reply #6 came directly (verbatim) from the head guy at the Ministry who is in charge of the regulations synopsis.

The elk and whitetail parts of the 7B season synopsis have been changed.

Whats with all the splits of 7-42 and 7-43 for elk ? Seems like a step backwards .

Management in 7B is a step backwards. Changes will be for people, not wildlife. Same with the elk season in the Kechika. 9 days in an area that is only accessed by jetboat/floatplane - I guess horses if you have 4+ days on either side to trail in.

Can't wait until staff tries to go back to the 4 pt white-tailed buck season - the same one which put BC on the roadmap for North America's worst management regime for white-tailed deer. Guess everybody has been be known for something. Personally, not keen on being the butt of every joke for white-tailed deer researchers/managers in NA.

The splits in 7-42 and 7-43 are the same as last synopsis. They're just not calling them "Zone A" and "Zone B" this time.

They must have found the missing elk:

BTW - the East part of 7-43 has lots of agricultural land while the west doesn't.
