Thinking about heading up there this fall to check things out. I have been through there a few times on motor bike trips and like the area. It is on the border of MU-30 and 17 but is also close to 18 and 29, would one MU be better than the others? Also looking for a place to stay in the area, would prefer a nice cabin and do my own cooking but a hotel/motel would be 2nd choice. If you know of a nice place in the general area please let me know. My son only gets limited time off so we don't want to waste it all on travel. Thanks for your help, Cheers Roscoe

Lots of good deer in that area get up and away from the roads a bit like everywhere else. The Bonaparte is good but I think that whole area has been hammered good by wolves. Maybe someone that spends more time up there will give insight on that area

I hunt mainly 319 but do venture over to 18 every once in a while, deer (MD,WT) moose, bears, seems pretty solid out that way from what I have seen, a few really nice bucks, powerlines are good for sure, but I prefer the thick stuff.

I go up to Loon Lake a couple of times a year to a friends cabin. There's lots of fishing camps along the lake where you could probably find a cabin. In January I took a quick drive up Black Valley Rd outside of Cache Creek and saw five whitetail in 10 mins probably. I'm not sure if they're still in that area in the fall though.
