Bumped into him twice over the last few days and got a good look at him and a few of his tracks so have a pretty good idea on his size.

How big does he go by your estimate? Blurry pic cropped from an iphone but you can see enough to tell.

A nice one.

I would guess 57% chance that its a female with good reproductive years ahead~ hmmm dilemma.

from that pic looks 6.5'+. really good looking bear from the pic, I would probably shoot. I would also say definitely a boar.

He's over 6 1/2 probably closer to 7'...but guessing from one pic is always risky.
IMO-Nothing about him says small. All big.
Shoot first....measure later.

If this pic doesn't make it into at least 4 more threads I will be very disappointed. Still laughing from the first time I saw it.

your probably closer at 7 than I was at 6.5, but I always try to caution on the small side. I agree a big bear that would probably score high, looks like he has a big melon.

It looks like a tank, not the one in the tree, that looks like one of my buds from 20 years ago after a night of drinking.lol

You guys are right on the money. I figured 6.5 + when I first looked at him.

Saw him again and figured 7ft is closer. His track (front pad width) measures 7". You could put a 12" frying pan between his ears with room to spare.

If I see him again in the right place at the right time, I'll get a definite measurement :)

He's on private land in the photo. The only shooting going on was with a camera.

First bear of the years.

I posted this years already (the tree climber), here's last years. The shakey-sidekick filmed it, sorry. It's a video if you click on it.

As a note, this last springs bear was 3 weeks earlier than this years first bear. Good tip for the Grizz hunters wanting to get into areas. Late thaw this year.
