Bear hunting weekend?

Anyone going out in southwest B.C. this weekend?

I just checked a few of my diary entries from 2011 and 2012 and one bear I shot was on May 21 on the Island and another May 24 on the mainland. Due to work pressure I only had one day free last year and on a day trip from Vancouver we only saw two bears close up on May 15.

With the price of fuel these days I think I'll wait until the third week of May to maximize the effort this year.

earlyest bear i saw out in 5-2 was april 16 earlyest one we shot was april 20 they will be ouit but very unlikely you will see them all over the place like the third weekend in may

Going to give them a few weeks to run a few belly fulls of grass through the system before I head out.

Still way too much snow in the Princeton area. Was up there Saturday walking through thigh deep snow

Friend of mine was out near Merritt yesterday and saw an absolute pig. I asked him why it wasn't in the truck and he explained he wasn't even hunting, just out poking around.

They are commin out now, seen a bruiser golden on our work lease. Boss said no so he didnt end up as suasage. Seen 3.others aswell. Still slow , time is money id wait if i were you .once the dandilions come up it will get busy out there

went out this past weekend in the lower mainland went up the coq seen nothing . No sign anywhere
