I`d say an older buck just based on the knarlies near the base.I have shot a lot of nice 2-3 year olds and they are usually smoother, older bucks get the rough bases.Plus, the EK ain`t known for real big bucks.I`d hazard a guess at about 4+

Eh ? I was thinking older buck as well but to me an older buck = 8+ wouldn't a 4+ buck be considered young , I shot a 6 point wt and it was aged at 9+ (tooth) and it wasn't showing any signs of going down hill yet other than some palming ? but that may have been genetic

yeah, an old guy with bases like that. His antlers are in decline and have shortened up.

Well, bucks are in their prime at what 6 yrs old, so he's older that I would think, so at least 7 and maybe 8 or 9. They don't live much beyond that in the wild. I've read that a doe kept in captivity was 17 and still fertile but that's the easy life. (In Leonard Lee Rue book)
