Sawmill lake Oliver

Just talking to a member of South Okanagan Sportsman Association <SOSA>and the club is in support of a change to Sawmill Lake from fly only- catch + release to a open bait-lure-kill fishery has anyone out also heard that ?

I also heard that it passed at their meeting and will now proceed to the BCWF AGM for their blessing. It is highly unlikely that it will change due to the immense popularity of this lake for flyfisherman of all ages. Conjuring up thoughts of my grandson catching a 5 to 10 lb trout on his flyrod is too much to take. I really think this is one of those "much to do about nothing" issues.

Mmmmmm. Mud and cow poop flavoured trout can't wait !!! The best is in the summer when the lake drops and heats up so much the fish are pre cooked. Why change it,more lakes should be made into trophy fly only so our kids and others can enjoy good fisheries.

FHAC meeting was this past Sat am. Had to blow it off to pack out a bear but others on this forum were there.
