Does any know where to buy emergency rations in a reasonable price around greater vancouver?

somthing like this

I live in Vancouver. I ordered MRE at costco but finding it is not enough. I am looking for emergency rations that look like a pack of hard bricks(yes, just like old hardtack). These things are small and useful, can be put in my emergency backpack under my bed or in my car. I went to three vets in vancouver, they sell those rations like $11 each, I can get one big MRE from costco at same price! I really want to know where to find cheaper ones.

Thanks guys!

I just saw a huge section of emergency rats at Walmart in Port Angeles. I'm talking doomsday prepper stuff in 5 gal pails. Other stores might have them.

Have you contacted Dave's Army surplus in New West? It's been some time since I was last in there, but they had all kinds of funky meals in foil packs the last I was there. Maybe 2 years back?

SFRC has their boxes of 12 MRE's for about $80. I bought 3 cases, so I'm set for a month's worth of food in the event of an event.

You could also try making your own. I dehydrate all sorts of things. 5lbs of apples will fit into a tupperware that would be hard pressed to hold two sandwiches...
fine tuning salty rosemary apple chips right now! dont see why it couldnt be ground into a powder along with some pork jerky and other things... and mushed into a brick

I asked google and after 30 seconds this had a good concise list of ideas. http://readynutrition.com/resources/homemade-mres_02102012/

i will do some more looking though. interests me also.

Go to this website and spend some time: http://www.thesurvivalpodcast.com/tag/food-storage

Download the podcasts and listen when driving to work, or mowing the lawn. You can cheaply store enough for 12 months, then cycle the stored food into your kitchen's food stores.
