So my friends and myself are planning a goat hunt to 7-03 in end of august early sept, has anyone hunted goats up this way before, if so did you see/harvest any. All input is appreciated.:-D

Most of the zone is on LEH draws for goat, the areas which are not are very tough access. It's rough and tough country, but yes there's goats.

Step 1. Know your hunting regulations. Dates etc for a species.

Step 2. Look in LEH paper to ensure its not a draw area and if it is. The dates etc if it is.

7 03 is mostly LEH. Plan on entering draws then post up asking for advice.

Have hunted them in that area. Most areas are leh only, all areas are tough access but yes there is goats.

There are easier places to hunt goats west of PG and better odds too.....

We have a zone already picked where we are putting in for leh and then may go into the open area if neither of us is drawn. I have been thoroughly over the zones but we are just in the planning stages here, that's why I ask.

And also the spot we are most interested in after all our internet scouting seems to be open season as well and the secondary area we entered for it zone L

And as for rough country Im not overly concerned, spent alot of time in the far north surveying, It all makes for a more exciting hunting adventure ;)

Internet scouting is good, but if your within reasonable distance to mcbride...nothing beats putting miles on boots. Oh and goggle earth is horribly out of date

yeah google earth is pretty bad but at least we have all of our sub regions and no hunting areas mapped out, we will be miling up the boots for sure no quads or horses on this one just two feet and a heart beat and of course my 300 :)

bing maps has newer imagery in a lot of cases over google earth. less features though.

#1 ask advice before entering leh so u don't put in for an area with limited access
# 2 don't listen to people on here
# 3 google earth
#4 kill a good BILLY

Have you been into zone L before? The roads that are in the better drainages are deactivated and washed out.....

I had a draw in zone G quite a few years ago. Got a nice Billy.
