Cormoran was protected for couple years in europe and the population just exploded and its doing enormous damage to fish..

We've caught them by accident while fishing in PEI and in Puerto Vallarta. Kind of fun actually, unless you have a bunch of lines out then it's a horrible mess.

Some commercial fisherman friends of mine back on the prairie's would go on the islands during the egg laying time and break all the eggs and also kill any chicks that had already hatched.

I have seen many people killing cormorants along the lower Pitt, Mostly people of Asian decent. Do they fall under the same category as ducks for bag limit or are they invasive? They are incredibly detrimental to smaller estuaries along the coast as a flock of them will travel upstream and chow any fry, smolt, or resident in sight.

I have seen them at Green timbers lake in surrey, Im sure they cleaned out the lake right after they stocked it.

Huge problem in Ontario but less so after next location and egg breaking. My coastal travels show increasing populations.
