Maybe a dumb question but what's the contest about?? Quality of mount? Score of species? Do you have to of entered/scored it for the book to enter? Is it to late to get an animal scored from a couple years back and get it entered for the banquet????

Thanx as always!

This is the Wildlife Records Club of BC (BC Book). They hold an awards Banquet every 3 years for all the enteries. It will be too late to enter, and anything that you are entering must be officialy scored and submitted. Hope that helps.

Is there a category for hares? I took a few huge bucks this winter! ;)

Unfortunately, I don't have any mounted yet. I guess I'd have to avoid a head shot if I want something as nice as this:

You bet. Looks like a pig of a bear in your avi pic, what a beauty!

You don't necessarily need the mount to get an award . . . the skull, antler or horn (depending upon the category) will suffice. Generally the top two scoring entries for each species during the 3 year period will be recognized.

Would be nice to see some big hare, coyote, beaver, cat and rat skulls! ;)

I am pretty sure the award animals are invite only from the entries they have received the last few years.

Hahaaha. I don't know. I was trying to be funny.

Feet would be good. I scored a huge pair of them on Saturday. Biggest I have seen yet.

The awards are invite only, they call you and give you a couple free tickets to attend the banquet. Sounds like it should be a good time!

MattB is right , the award winners for each category do get the personal invite to receive
An award , But the whole awards banquet silent auction fundraiser as we'll as the dinner is
Open to anyone wishing to attend, tickets are 40$ so tell your friends! there is always great stuff in the auction.

YOUTH AWARD ! Records Club

I hear that they are going to be giving out a Youth Award at the Banquet for the first time, Sounds like a great Idea,
the youth are where the future of hunting in B.C lies.

IIRC there are a couple of youth awards being handed out. One will be awarded to a young female hunter . . . she harvested a tough critter on a tough hunt. My son (10 yrs old) is keen to be my date at the banquet! :)
