Hey guys
Im doing some upgrades to my 10' Jon boat for fishing season. Got the Scotty anchor line mounts. Curious what you all use for anchor weight and line length in similar setups? Fishing mostly small interior lakes.

cheers

Nice boat! Mine is very similar, without the two bulkheads in the very back. How many feet of rope are you using?

I've been thinking about a floor too but wonder if it's worth it being that it's so flat anyways. Do you just drop it in when you're doing a lot of casting? Is it carpeted ?

the floor is a lot better than standing on the metal..and i have a piece of carpet that goes over the plywood.

Yup you need 12 lbs ers, you can still get blown around with 10lbs ers if the lake is mud bottomed and the anchors can't get a good bite. Wind seems to like whipping up by about 1 or 2 in the afternoon on those interior lakes in my experience, don't want to get blown around watching that indicator over that chronie! I keep my rope on one of those extension cord storage holder thingys from home depot, it's a piece of plastic shaped like an H, usually seem to only use about 25' or less so it keeps the rest of the unused rope wrapped up neat and tidy.

I use 15# pyramid weights...I made a wooden plywood frame and poured my own from tire weights...The hard part is holding the heavy frypan full of hot lead when pouring..You must have it very close to your mould..I have the same boat and I can fish in a hurricane...LOL...Use the scottys also..Give your bow line some lead and you will hold..I fish Chronimid all the time and don't blow around..The pyramid holds better than the round..Check out the guides boats..Dennis

I prefer 12# pyramids and carry 2x 60' ropes. I use a pair of small laundry detergent pails with sturdy handles to store my spare rope and transport the pyramids.
