I know the guide that runs from manning park to keremeos and he advised me that not to waste anytime with either of those regions and focus on region 8-?..... So i did and saw for the first time a 5x5 and bunch of cows day after the season. So the knows his stuff.

No he didnt say not to hunt in his area, he said dont waste there your better on in another spot where he goes witj his clients and better chance. Then again your gonna need horses there because no road access so why is he worried

There are zero elk in 8-5 and 8-6.
I thought the herd of @ 10, including 3 or 4 bulls that ran across the road in front of us in 8-6 last fall were elk but my Son convinced me they were actually Reindeer.

I've seen way more elk in region 3 than 8-5/6 but do go for a hunt or 2 down that way as I've seen a few elk in that area. I wish they would open a 6 point elk season in reg 3.

You think they would considering 6 pt elk season's are supposed to be fail-safe aren't they??

My very first hunting trip was in 8-4 a couple years ago for the 6 point elk season, three days after I got married. I had zero idea how to hunt elk and I didn't see a damn thing but after the insanity of the wedding it was pretty awesome to walk alone and quiet in the woods.
