I am looking at the scope vortex crossfire ii 3-9 by 50, I have heard that it is the best bang for your buck. I can buy it for around 230.00. any other scope suggestions? has to have visible moa turrets preferably capped but not a big deal,it's for a savage 30-06. planning on shooting up to 500 yards for yotes. scope should be under 350.00

I have looked at the Scorpion line, although I do not see a lot of information yet. You can get a 4 x 14 x 44 for $219 or adjustable turrets for $299 Worth taking a look and still life time warranty

from what I have heard the crossfire ii vbrite is not a whole lot different from a lot of the diamondback models and at a fraction of the price you can't go wrong, thanks for the suggestion definitely something worth looking at.

Nikon Prostaff and/or Redfield Revolution are the 2 I would look at. I just went through a big "I gotta get a new scope". Ended up with a Nikon Prostaff and a Leupold VX 2.

I prefer a little more magnification than 9x for my Coyote rigs (3-12, 4-12 or 4-14) for those longer open field shots.

Nikon = good bang for buck, their name speaks for itself.

Have not used a Redfield but I have heard many good things about them, made by Leupold in Oregon.

Can't speak directly on the Scorpion, but I wouldn't waste my money to find out.

P&D in Edmonton has some good prices on the Nikon line:

6728
PROSTAFF II 4-12x40 MATTE NP
$210.00

6729
PROSTAFF II 4-12x40 MATTE BDC
$226.00

Here are the 5 Model with Side Focus

35529
PROSTAFF 5 3.5-14x40SF MATTE NIKOPLEX
$366.00

35530
PROSTAFF 5 3.5-14x40SF MATTE BDC
$378.00

I have seen deer through my current scope at around 500 yards at mag. 9 on a 3-9 by 40 I knew what my bullet drop was but I was not confertable shooting because i didn't have visible moa turrets.I found that I could see the deer fairly well magnification wise and if I had proper moa I would probably pull the trigger. the scope that came with my gun, it's a bushnell scope that is so bad they don't sell it. it is strictly for axis guns which means they come as a package, scope and all. it costs bushnell about 10 US dollars to make the scope so it goes without saying I need a new one for this upcoming season

bp I would consider the Nikon myself in your price range. I have a buckmaster with a Kenton industries turret on it and it works well. $89 for the turrets now at Kenton for the Nikon's and the Buckmasters scopes are on sale in Canada. You can just get the turret made in an MOA dial and it will be just a screw on. How are your rings and bases?

Refield also makes a 6-18x44mm. Have read mixed reviews on them.
I've seen them listed for quite a bit cheaper than what the MSRP states here.

I'm also in the market for one for the .17wsm which I haven't purchased yet.
