Dwaune they rock I have 3 and they are strong and lite, in my opinion the best bang for the buck in rifle stocks. Stuart is a great guy to deal with as well.

Everett are you trolling in my laptop, Stuart is not the owner of this, he had already sold his, but I did buy his Remmy SA Action though ..

I bought one 11 years ago and finished it with the help of my dad. Was a fun project and the price was much less than buying a drop in high end stock. I believe my 700 SA weighed 20oz or so

It's a great stock but my big complaint with it is that it drops to much in the butt. It makes for a crappy cheek weld while shooting. If you buy one get the gunsmith to build up the cheek piece higher before painting it.

Brew, i am one of those odd ball left eye dominant fool's who shoot right handed guns, so a straight comb or small cheek piece is nice... Gunsmith built me a left hand palm swell when I built my 7/08AI , might do the same to this...

I got Wes surfing your laptop for banking info:-D I was talking about Stuart who is Wildcat Composites. My last stock for a M7 finished at 17.8 oz pad and bedding. Pretty sweet for a sub $300 stock. The one on my 700 finished at 22oz that one has a lot of days on it and its still in great shape.. Personally find them a little hard to shoot off the bench but they kick ass in the field.

Ya they are very light ... the strength lies in the weight. from what I have heard WildCat will build to suit. They have ultra ultra light versions that have been know to break.

If its in the 20 -25oz range it should be fantastic. Ive heard some were built in the 16oz range ... those are the ones that have been know to break. Anything ultra ligt weight is going to have to sacrifice strength. Its the law of physics with the common materials used in modern rifle stocks

If you have one that is in that super ultra light weight category just don't abuse it. I would try hard not to drop it or fall on it ... We all know mountain hunting can be.

All BS aside they are very good stocks. They are the only other real alternative option to a Mcmillan edge IMO

Got two. Love them. Only thing I can complain about is that they ice up in cold conditions and become very noisy in the thick brush. They will, however, take a shit kicking in the mountains and not break. Did a couple spectacular wipe outs while guiding and never did more than chip the paint.

Stuarts newest stocks have a layer of carbon fibre running down the length of them and that makes pretty strong. As I posted earlier I have two of the ultalight ones and no problems.

Ya it is the older ones that I heard had the problems ... wild cat has been around for awhile now. Ive heard the new ones that are ultra light are a whole lot better.

Guys on here are saying $300 ? I don't think they are that cheap anymore are they ? I thought they were up around $700+ finishing ?

All you need to look good is a camo pattern Hydro dipped on. I happen to have a shop that does that $140 your choice of camo. High end automotive finish in flat, then it will look sharp.

Who does that Hydro dipping ? ... im having a Mcmillan edge painted right now. If I don't like it I might wanna go the hydro dipped rout. Some of those stock sure turn out nice

The reason people have issues with the process is due to the use of cheap products (including the cheap DIY kits).Knowledge is also a huge factor on the end result . I only use high end made for Hydrographics paints and clears and the films are the best I can find. Send me your email and you will get a link to the film catalogue.

I must do the prep. as that is one of the most important steps. I do not remove the stock and recoil pad though. You bring as you want dipped.

Thank you

I've installed quite a few wildcats, among the easier ones to finish! Typically add 2 ounces to blank weight for finished weight with paint, bedding and custom pad.....u want a pachmyer or limbsaver and they alone weigh 5-6 ounces!

Easy to close in the bottom metal opening and inserting the hardware making a blind mag. I have a gun that way.
