Recently there has been some fantastic photos and videos posted here on HBC. Some talent for sure! I would like to upgrade my older cannon camera and camcorder and purchase a game cam. I was wondering what you guys are using and what you recommend?
Cameras? Camcorders? Game cams? What say you HBC Spielbergs?

all depends on what you mostly want to do with it.
I record video with my camera.
a dedicated video would be awesome though if that's more of what one would be doing.
but I prefer snaps, and almost always forget to shoot vid.
any brand is great, it's more personal preference.
one can never, ever go wrong with a gamecam.
more important than anything to help you with your actual hunting.

Good call on this I was looking for one for this upcoming scouting and hunting season now. Its hard to choose and keep up to date if your not a techie. Like duallie said depends what you want.

there's lots of fancier makes of tcams, but I'm kinda really liking the bushnell.
it's simple, not a bunch of fancy-schmancy, and most of all, it's really compact.
and all it's footage that I've watched, I like.
I find it's not the absolute awesomest video, but it always seems to be good.
lots bleach out at rising and fading light.
their night-view sensor can get confused.

I would like to shoot more video. And with the camera I would like more zoom. Some of the zoom out there is huge but quality goes for chit. So are these 80X zoom camcorders worth the hype or just stay in the 30x range?

no, they are actually good.
I have a sony 250X zoom.
I was skeptical, but I was wayyyy up on a far away hilltop and zoomed right in on boats cruising through the narrows on shuswap.
and they are much more compact than a bigger camera.

that's actually what I have.
and older ones also.
one's a 40X optical, and I'm not even sure how big digital.
the other is half the size, and 60X optical, 2000X digital.
they are great.
I'm sure the newer ones are even better.
