Hooked into and landed my first Steelhead today! What a thrill that was, I made sure I babied it so I could get it to the beach. about 20-30 minutes prior my dad landed one also. I would say that`s a successful day! Picture to come.

Good on ya! I remember it taking a few years of tinkering before I landed my first. Didn't help running a river that sees a couple hundred fish at most on any given year, but once the door opened, so did the flood gates. The best year I had was 65 with an estimated run of 110. I fished a lot that year. :-D Have fun, and tight lines.

Congrats!
Now I am assuming that's the whack, but more likely summer run on the Chehalis.

Thanks! Yep hammered the Chehalis this morning.

As for Whonnock Boy, I have fished a good portion of my life (I`m only 17). This year I took it more seriously and have matured and hey, the results have shown!

Ah congratulations! I remember my first steelhead like it was yesterday, in the run above the big boulder a few hundred yards up from slesse slide, what an addicting rush it was, never forget that day Sure miss those years of passing away those winter months fixated on floats before life got in the way. Stupid responsibilities

I'm going to take advantage of it while I can! :-D It was probably the highlight of my fishing career so far! I will admit... I did feel like the king fisher for the rest of the day ;-)

That's awesome. I still remember my first steelie and it was quite some time ago. Definitely gonna be a lifelong memory for you. I don't think there's to many things I find more enjoyable in the off season. It can become very adictting.
Congrats on the first of many :)

Why is that?

It pulls the protective slime off of the fish... none the less nice fish.
