What flies do you guys use for lake fishing in early March....primarily for rainbows and cutties.

Mason, some pics and recipes would be awesome.

March, depending on what area of the province you are in the fish will be eating leeches, bloodworms, chironomids, scuds. I know in the Cariboo when I fished in March the hatches were not quite starting yet. Again, weather makes a difference to

Micro leeches will work anywhere that time of year and they are what I used 90% of the time

muskrat, the proportions on your chironomids is very good. I have problems getting the thread thorax to be perfect against the bead.

Just takes practice but once you get the hang of the proportions it will stick and you will just naturally do it everytime!
