I was asked to post some pictures of some minnow and streamer patterns so I dug up some pictures of what I have tied. I have more but will have to take pictures of them when I have time.

When I moved to AB from BC it was a game changer as I was new to pike, walleye, perch, golden eye etc.

But I can say catching a big pike while stripping in a minnow or leech is a blast, the initial attack is intense, the fight dies down quick but it is alot of fun

the color that worked best for me was a chartreuse streamer.
the pike smashed it to bits in no time.
I'm glad I experienced pike on the fly, but I much prefer casting a spoon or plug.

love your epoxy heads.
very nice job.
and on the flies as a whole also.
but those heads and eyes are really good.
i've bought one from a guy that ties "shuswap specials", and his epoxy heads are the worst I've ever seen.
I really like those metal heads of yours as well.

I normally use a resin which you use a UV light on to cure in seconds but I ran out a long time ago and just have not ordered any. So I have been back to using epoxy for some time. I try and shape the head the best I can then put the fly on a bbq rotisserie made for drying flys so it drys even. It can be real messy especially if a guy isn't carful with it, can ruin a fly real quick. Also if you by the real cheap epoxy it can and will turn milky.

I know a guy that ties, and he has a little machine on his table that rotates them as they dry.
his heads are also phenomenal compared to some I've seen out there.

yes without some sort of device to have the flys on to dry evenly, you would have real ugly looking flys lol. bbq rotisserie motors work wonders

have you tried different variations of eye colours?
I found one year that that made all the difference.
the exact same special pattern, but had many different eye colours.
when the bite slowed, switched to the same fly but with a different color eye, and they wouldn't leave it alone.

Yes I have or can get pretty much any eye color possible....I have specific eyes for certain patterns I tie so always have a good variety
