I always shot a 300 win. mag with my own 180gr. hand loads. But sat. night i won a 30-06 at the local game banquet (the food was awesome). I'm thinking on loading something a little different than what i have been using. Trying to keep the tissue damage down a little. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have been shooting hornady 150gr gmx superformance with awesome results - i can put 3 rounds in the paper at 100yds and all the holes are touching and merged into one.

Hornady 190 gr BTSP over 53.4 gr of IMR 4350. Drops them quick with very little damage.

58 grains of RL22, behind a 200 grain Partition,,,2760 fps kills fast no meat lost,,,takes more to open a heavier bullet than it does a light one.

57 grn of IMR 4350 under 180 or 165 Interbonds. Works great with either!

Using 165 hornady superformance with my tikka t3, great performance!

I use 61 grains of Hodgdon 4831 to push my 180's...

Love the 3 feet of flame I get in low light conditions...

They do kick, though...

I run 60 of imr4350 and either GMX or SST 150's in mine.

H 414, the 30-06's secret powder. Also had great luck with imr 4064 with those plain jane 150 gr hornady flat based interlocks, used those just for punching paper in 2 different 30-06 rifles now, very accurate.

I shoot a 168g gmx bullet with 56.5g of powder I think, on the road so don't quote me on the powder weight.
