Why doesn't the Goverment come out with the LEH'S in Jan. I am retired so I don't need to plan my hunts that early.
But I know lots of guys that thier work requires them to but in there vacation time early in the year for the year and I think that it would help them plan their vacations out better for the hunting season and also family vacations. In the computor world we live in you would think that would not be a big deal!!!

id say the reason they dont do the draw in february is because are licence runs out at the end of march. only a guess though but i figure thats got something to do with it.

pretty sure a lot of wildlife inventories take place over the winter months as well

Pretty spot on. Who knows how many tags would get wasted. guys moving away or not renewing for any number of reasons

They would base a lot of the quotas on information they get from the hunter survey. Mine came in the mail last week... Who knows how long it takes them to collect and analyse the data!

Don't get your hopes up bud, Alberta is online and their dates haven't changes from the old 1-900 number system.

They just released the spring grizz numbers today.
The whole ministry is so understaffed, things take a lot more time than in other jurisdictions.
