Why is the deer hunting in BC closed now? You mean everywhere all deer?

Yes I am very new, I did not know some seasons are completely closed like this in the entire province. Sorry!

You're learning, it's fine!

Grab a copy of the BC hunting Regulations and look through it a bit for your area, it might answer a lot of questions for you. It's a free booklet found anywhere you can buy tags/licence (ie walmart, local gun shop, bc access center).
Pick and animal you want to hunt and see when you can, in what area. There is LOTS to learn!

The only place I'm aware of right now that is open for deer is the Queen Charlotte Islands.

If you hunt....or intend to, you may want to peruse these.

Here is a link to the online bc hunting synopsis. I would reccomend reading through it before heading out to do any hunting. It would suck on a royal scale to do something wrong and lose your hunting privelages for a few years.

O did send you a pm on this donnareid but possibly you didn't get it. I was suggesting that rather than just reading the book and challenging the test, you instead take the course. In the course you get the benefit of a lot of experience, tips, and information that will make you a much more knowledgeable outdoors lady, and therefore a much safer hunter. Remember one thing. We are all hunting in the same outdoors and it's nice to know that the person that you might pass along the line knows what they are doing as well. I do the course in the Princeton area which probably doesn't service your area, but if you go online to BCWF there is a list of all CORE examiners in the province. Most of them, I believe, also teach the course.

Let's show Donna how nice Canadian and BC hunters are and help her learn, instead of being harsh.

Donna, the entire province is divided up into Management Units, or MUs. Each region has an open season for various species of animal. In most regions at this time, there are no open seasons on deer. The only people that can hunt deer at this time are those who have a Limited Entry Tag, which is special permission to hunt given out by a lottery type system. The only exception to that are Aboriginal hunters who are allowed to hunt for food and ceremonial purposes year round and do not require hunting licenses or tags.

Could possibly be a joke, as that is a pretty damned impressive buck, some guy just pulling his buddies leg? If this was taken illegally I would be very sad.
