Still coyote/wolf hunting, but pretty slow right now. Had a great Nov, Dec, 15 coyotes. Should pick up again in the next few weeks. I usually get around 20 a year, hoping to beat that.

Looking forward to spring raven & crow hunting on the farm!

Coyote's for me, not that I'm getting any, but I'm out trying.

My Wildfire II and Foxjack arrived yesterday so hopefully some dog's down this weekend.

Also, where's the Wolf story/pic?

I came across the wolf by total accident,,,was pulling out from a coyote stand when 3 wolves crossed out behind me in small open field,,,2 of em where quick to learn I was there,,took off, seen em long enough to identify, but the 3 rd stood her ground and had just enough time to pull a slug out of my butt sleeve on shotgun,,,50-60 yards on the shoulder,,,,big hole from the round,,,,gonna sew it up and make a wall mount,,,,,I been seeing lots of wolf sign up Roche lake area,,,so might concentrate more in that area for while yet

Do you think the wolves were coming into your call ? What were you using electronic call or mouth ? Going out in the morning.

I was using the knight and hale cottontail call,,,,works awesome on the coyotes,,,,the wolves could have came into inspect it out of curiosity,,,,I hit the same stand about once a week-week & half,,,,so they would have definatly heard the calling before

man i just woke up from a dream that i was shooting crows and rabbits!
id like to get out somewhere next month to try and hunt some coyotes and wolves(if lucky). im in the lower mainland so i was thinking to head to the kelowna or kamloops area. would really love to have a life sized wolf mount!.
i figure id just find a nice open area and set up the ground blind and foxpro caller and see what happens!
ive never done this before so any tips or recommendations on where to go would be great!

Been out for coyotes got a couple. 2 dozen or so hares. And an unfortunate but awesome encounter with a bobcat. (No tag at the time) seen 2 wolves but would have to have a 50 cal to hit them

I just took my core last month. I was wondering besides raven/crows being a pest what is the point of killing them. Do you harvest anything from them. I have never thought of hunting those. There are tons of them around our area.

When I crow hunt I keep the feathers,,,I use them towards various fly tying patterns from streamers,,,,to chronomid patterns

It's challenging. Great practice. Keeps the skills up.

I kill them to keep them out of the grain and off the cattle on the ranch. Filthy birds.

Bodies go to the dump.
