I don't need any responses, I just wanted to share the loss of my Friend Kelly Cole.
Today we lost a very tough man, a father, loving husband and great pal. A fly fisherman that would sit on a dock for hours tying flys, and releasing fish. Kelly for the past 8+ years has been fighting cancer and he refused to let go, the past 8 years he has been coming to my fishing tournaments dealing with drunkards, but finding peace with his fly rod.
Every year he would try to win the trophy with no luck, he couldn't get on any boat for a long length of time, and in 2013 he would finally win catching a 5lbr from the dock and probably another 30 he released prior that same day.
He was the toughest guy I ever met, and I got to know how special he was only the past few years. I learned how passionate he was for fishing, and I know the next time I'm at Red Lake, I will not only think of him, ill feel his presence cause I know he will come visit me there.
Kelly god rest your soul, you deserve a holiday and a rest, tight lines in heaven my friend.
A video of him catching a nice one.
