Bushnell no longer has the elite number series, ie 3200, 4200, 6500. They are just elite now that is it.

My original scope was 2 years old in excellent shape. It was a product failure. The scope they sent me is just a elite 3x9x40 I think they should have sent the same or better. Just my thoughts. It doesn't really matter as I will never use bushnell again. Nice new vortex topping off my gun now

If the one you sent back was a 4200 3-9x40, then I believe the Elite 3-9x40 is the 'new' version of that scope. When they discontinued the Elite 3200/4200 lines, they basically kept the best of the works and put 4200 glass in them all. That is what heard anyway.

That's about the 6th one of those I've heard about fogging up for no reason, including one of my own after only about 6 months. Took it back to Isl Outfitters and they gave me full credit towards a new Leupold.

There is problems with every thing on the market, nothing is perfect. I have had Bushnell for well over 30 years and only a couple issues and they went good repairing or replacing asap. Sounds like they did what they should have done. You might hear more about one brand than another if there is 5 times more of them in the market. If you don't want the scope I am sure you will sell new in box very easily, help pay for the scope you replaced it with

I guess you didn't learn your lesson about cheap scopes huh? You might want to bring along your bushnell scope as a backup on any serious hunts you do away from civilization. Its only a matter of time till you'll be singing the same song again.

I would talk to Bushnell. This is the replacement for the 4200 but it looks like there has been changes. Interesting situation.

The new 'Elite' is the full equal of the previous 4200 3-9x40, which was essentially a 3200 with a different tube construction. (2.5-10x 4200's were superior to the 3-9x 4200) - price is lower because Bushnell tried to get more competitive

that totally sucks, I would be hounding bushnell for a better scope if they don't make the equivalent now, and on top of that I would call it lesson learned and don't buy anything bushnell from here on out, its garbage plain and simple.
