Hey HBC crew, thought you all might enjoy some neat trailcam footage I captured while elk hunting this October in the Fort Steel area.

PS at 3:25 in, is a quick glimpse of the bull I bagged a day or two after the video footage! A nice 6x6! My first!

Pretty cool. Quite a big herd went through at end. I was expecting a big herd master to be following! Kinda funny when they stop to sniff the camera!

Ya we wondered too. The locals in the area had also seen Ol' bent horn and said its been like that for several seasons.
My old man figured he might've suffered some testicular damage for that to happen....dunno why he thinks that. But anyways....

Great post IslandmanDan.
Another reason why using the video setting on your trail cam can yield so much more compared to just a pic.
The enjoyment of reviewing a card is 10 fold.

Again, great post.

awesome stuff, great seeing the video, bull sounds and cows chirping.
Neat to see what times they become active.
And to all those who say elk don't bugle come October..ha!

Now, this is the kind of stuff that needs to be posted and discussed upon this forum.!!!
Thanks again BMI

Nice trail cam videos your trail cam takes decent videos at night take note that the big guy in the herd is always the last in the line when the herd is on the move that one elk hit his left antler early stages of growth cool video clips ,,thanks for sharing..

Great Video !!! Lots of action at night. Was there much during the day? Did they take a different route.

Ya these elk are nocturnal. They spend the daylight hours up in the mountains. And when its dark they are in the farmers' fields eating grass. We seen them exiting the fields once at about 5:45am...back into the forest. Still too dark. And the last one of the herd tripped on the top wire of the fence, and slammed hard onto the road. I pissed myself I laughed so hard. Was super comical. Big spike bull landing on is side on the road. So funny. Especially that early in the morning....haha

Very cool, kinda shows ya its hard to make the wrong sound with your cow talker, tons of variation when they are chirping back and forth locating each other traveling in the dark.

Ya super vocal...I think Wayne Carlton nails it when he mentions using variety. (But dont overdo it.)
Man, I must've played the clip where the cow mews back at the camera, like 20X that first time watching it...mew. Mew. Incredible.

if your curious why there is no Elk there next year? Could be because there is too many hunters camped there .no gps lat, long ??. can't wait to see you in the bush.thanks
