....and ran across these. Thought they were more cat tracks when I first saw them but on closer inspection I noticed the nails and the pointy toes.

The snow that started just as I was getting out of the truck started covering them, they had to be fresh this morning as we had snow last night. Found day old tracks going out of the area and this set heading back in.

Not the same area as the cat tracks I posted earlier.

No such luck. My Cam was a few hundred yards away from here. Nothing but blowing trees on my cam.

My trail cam went nuts after a few good days of photos. It started taking 1 phots every seven seconds until the batteries died. I had 1200 photos of nothing around the clock for a few days. Then it ended like the Sopranos....Nothing.

Trail cams can be a head ache sensitivity levels, blowing branches, batteries say there good but die, cards corrupt, but they give you a reason to get out in the bush and you learn something every time.

What brand/model are you using, Keith? We've had major issues with a few of our U-way cameras doing the same thing.

I have been using mine for 2 seasons successfully. This is the first time it has happened. Mine is a Bushnell Trophy Cam model 119455.

You did better than I did. I went to collect mine yesterday after 10 days hanging and i had one stolen . I know it wasn't a bear cause it was on a old growth fir covered in moss, and I strapped it tight to tree so it being gone the indent of the camera and strap is still in the moss. I knew it was too close to road, but also did not expect anyone out there this time of year. Only ones I saw were salal pickers, and when I went to collect oine of my other cams their truck was parked right where I would have parked. So when I got out I yelled and they answered off the other side of old road. I said good jut wanted to know what side you were on before I started shooting lol . They never came out to road, go figure :-) At least that cam was still there so took it home

I have mine in a steel box attached with large screws for that exact reason.

I ended up having to snap the last screw today due to stripping the stupid Philips head screw. Going to get some smaller lag bolts instead of screws (all I have for lag's around the house is Huge or Huger).

BCHunterTV - Wolf tracks this time. :)

making judgment based on the few pictures...cougar. A cougar will show signs of nail at times

I hate it when that is all you get.

Every step had the nails out, the closeup pic I posted was the best one I could find, even walked to another stand of trees looking for a better print.

It started snowing hard when I got there and then let up after about 5 minutes. Just enough snow to cover the tracks as seen.

Not sure if this clarifies anything:

Try turning your sensitivity down to low when it get below 0. Mine would go crazy when the sensitivity was on normal and it got cold. Turned it down to low and no problems. Bushnell is know for this little malfunction.

Coach, not sure if yours has a sensitivity setting or not.

Cheers

We have a Bushnell Trophy cam Bone Collector edition that was doing that, 3 pics ever 3 seconds, cam died after 2500 pics after 3 days.
Turns out my partner set a field scan on so It was "scanning" every few seconds with three pictures.

Looks like cat, especially the upper left print in this photo.
